Come Travel with Us
Equescapes was founded in 2015 by Adrienne Rubin, after a riding accident left her unable to ride for several months, at which point she decided to leave the show ring and competitive riding world. She wasn’t ready to give up horses and riding - far from it - but wanted to do more traveling, and so Equescapes was born.
All of our trips have been personally ride-tested by our staff, and are chosen for their stunning scenery, cultural highlights, exceptional horses and people, and taste of adventure.
Our staff are all women, all professional riders in some capacity, and together have a wealth of experience and knowledge in the horse industry, across multiple continents and riding disciplines.
Adrienne grew up riding in Colorado, riding and competing in western riding and barrel racing, jumping and dressage, foxhunting, polo, and more. She has lived, worked, and ridden all over the world. She founded Equescapes Equestrian Adventures to combine her passion for horses with her love of travel. Always up for an adventure, she spends part of each year exploring new destinations. When she isn’t traveling, she can be found at home in Colorado, riding, skiing, rock climbing, woodworking, and teaching yoga and riding (sometimes at the same time!) Ask Adrienne about her adventures on riding safaris in Africa or training barrel racing horses in France!
Adrienne has been featured in EQluxe Magazine, Voyage Denver, the Equestrian Adventuresses Podcast and Blog, and the Saddles and Sisterhood book series.
Holly has always had a love for all types of animals, both big and small, stemming from growing up on a small farm in upstate New York. She has been in Colorado for the last decade working as a wrangler and hunting guide in the Gore Range Mountains. She spends most of her summers and falls in the backcountry on horseback, and her winters driving a draft team and sleigh. She has her own mustang from the Wild Horse Inmate Program (WHIP) in Canon City.
Brittany grew up in Arizona, riding and competing in 4-H with her first horse, a mustang rescued off the Navajo Reservation. Eventually barrel racing and roping became her focus. She has been a wrangler in Arizona and Colorado, and spent a season working for an elk hunting guide in the Flattop Mountains of Colorado. After working for over 10 years as a firefighter and paramedic while training colts and barrel horses on the side, Brittany is now living in South Africa with her husband enjoying the safari and horse lifestyle there. Having ridden on 4 continents her passion for travel is only eclipsed by her love of horses. Blessed with a little bit of gypsy luck and a winged soul, she is always planning her next getaway.
Angela is back in the saddle after taking many years off from riding and to her surprise...it's just like riding a bike! She started as a young rider in US Pony Club and now enjoys dressage, cross country jumping and trails in California, Colorado and abroad. Her favorite trip is the one coming up. She especially has a soft spot for Ireland and Scotland, cross-country jumping, and tweed riding coats.
Lee's love for horses began as soon as she could speak, amusing her parents by insisting that if they didn’t have a barn, she would happily share her room with a horse. Although it took 30 years for Lee to have a horse of her own, she has always found ways to weave horseback riding into her life—whether for birthdays, anniversaries, girls' trips, or vacations around the globe! Lee was a trail guide outside of Atlanta, Georgia, and has been fox hunting for 15+ years. Today, she creates bespoke riding and non-riding holidays, helping clients turn their bucket-list adventures into unforgettable memories.
We are always looking for new adventures, partners, ambassadors, content creators, social media gurus, and more, so if you would like to get involved, help out, or contribute, get in touch!
