Camping with Horses
2025 Dates:
TBD
Duration:
4 days/3 nights
Riding Level:
Intermediate - Advanced
Join us with your horse on this 2-night getaway to Hermit Park near Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Camp alongside your horse (there is room for LQ trailers or campers, but no hookups) and ride on beautiful trails through pine forests and meadows.
Bring your own horse and a tent (or we can provide one if needed) and we will take care of the rest. Meals around the campfire with fellow equestrians sharing a love for trail riding, nature, horses, and adventure.
Horses
Bring your own horse - Stalls at each camp site allow you to camp out right next to your horse! Please read the Guest Horse Guidelines if you plan to bring your horse. Owners are responsible for their own feed, cleaning, and care.
Each site has two 12x12 stalls.
Riders of any discipline are welcome, but must be saddled (no bareback riding with the group). Riders must bring all their own tack and equipment.
Riding
Intermediate-Advanced. Since riders are bringing their own horses, a minimum of intermediate level riding is required. Accompanying non-riders are welcome to join for camping and meals.
Terrain
We will be riding predominately through pine forests on dirt single-track and dirt roads. The footing can be rocky in some areas. Shoes or boots for horses are always recommended.
The group will decide together how far everyone would like to ride, so that we may ride a distance which makes everyone comfortable.
Accommodation
Camp in a tent or trailer/camper. Camp sites are dry sites only - no electric, water, or sewer hookups for rigs. There are drop toilets on the premises. Horses can be watered from the river but riders should bring their own water for themselves.
