Visit the Mother City and discover her cosmopolitan culture, exquisite cuisine, vibrant nightlife, and featured attractions. Breath in fresh mountain air while taking in sweeping views of spectacular coastline from atop Table Mountain, tour the Cape Peninsula and visit the thriving penguin colony at Boulders Beach, shop and dine at the V&A Waterfront, and learn about Cape Town’s long and enthralling history. Complete your tour of this marvelous city with a long gallop on Noordhoek Beach. Then, travel to the Cape Winelands, where we will spend three days riding among the vibrant vineyards, wine tasting and getting to know our hunt mounts before joining the Cape Hunt for a foxhunt (drag hunt) among the picturesque vines on our last day.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Monday

Arrival at Cape Town International Airport
Spend the afternoon relaxing and getting settled in
Group dinner at the V&A Waterfront

Day 2 - Tuesday

Day tour of the city, including options to take the cable car or hike to the summit of Table Mountain, visit some of the beaches and the city center, and the V&A Waterfront

Day 3 - Wednesday

Full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, including Boulders Beach penguin colony in Simon’s Town, the Cape of Good Hope, Hout Bay, and the Chapman’s Peak Scenic Drive.

Day 4 - Thursday

Afternoon mid-morning at Cape Winelands, afternoon ride and dinner

Day 5 - Friday

Ride from winery to winery, getting to know our hunt horses while wine tasting and taking in the scenery. Dinner at a local restaurant/wintery.

Day 6 - Saturday

Saturday morning we will have the opportunity to do some cross-country jumping for those who wish to participate, in preparation for the hunt.
Free afternoon

Day 7 - Sunday

Sunday morning we will ride with the Cape Hunt, followed by hunt breakfast. Dinner at a local winery.

Day 8 - Monday

Clients will depart at various times during the afternoon for the airport, or may choose to stay another night if flights require.
